South Valley Rugby 2011 NorCal DIII Champs!

South Valley Rugby takes the D3 title with a 55-10 victory over Redwood Empire.


They will be taking on Budd Bay RFC at the PCRFU playoffs in Tucson AZ on 5/7/11.

Colusa 20 – REDWOOD 24 Referee: Tom Zanarini
This came down to conversion points. Redwood made 2 of 4, Colusa made 0 of 4. Great match to referee. Congratulations to Redwood for making the final and to Colusa for a massive first season. Once again, they had around 250 fans in support.

Colusa County Rugby remains perfect at 5-0

The Colusa County Rugby club improved to 5-0 on Saturday by defeating the Humboldt Old Growth 35-7 at Egling Middle School. Colusa's scored four tries in the first half by running a fast and relentless offensive attack on the visiting team. Shane Cabral, Lukas Polit, Gerardo Parra and Kyle Cabral gave Colusa a 28-0 advantage in the first half. Humboldt came out in the second half for a short time using Colusa's aggressiveness against them to force penalties and score their only try of the day. Colusa put the game away late in the second half on a long run by Lukas Polit, his second of the game. Colusa fans came out to support the team in great numbers which helped to push the team to the win.

Colusa plays today at 1 p.m. against the Reno Zephyrs at Egling Middle School. Raffle tickets will be sold at the game with all proceed to support the nonprofit Colusa County Rugby team.
